British Skydiving is hosting its first online Annual General Meeting on 30 January 2021, giving members the opportunity to learn how we have managed what has been the most challenging and unusual period in the Association’s 60-year history.
Members will be invited to vote on resolutions by our election partner, UK-Engage. The results of the resolutions will be declared at the end of the AGM, which will be hosted by our Chair, Craig Poxon, Vice-Chair, Adrian Bond and Treasurer, Tash Higman. During the AGM, Craig will deliver a review of 2020 and will speak about the impact of Covid-19 on its operations, the provisions made to support its affiliated Parachute Training Organisations during the pandemic and the need for council to take tough decisions to protect the future resilience of the Association as it enters the New Year. After the AGM there will be a presentation of Star Awards and the Mike Forge Trophy for Skydiver of the Year 2020.
Craig said, “Our Annual General Meetings are normally hosted to coincide with Skydive the Expo. The impact of Covid-19 has disrupted these in-person events, as it has done for so many NGBs and organisations. To ensure we can continue as normally as possible, we opted to host our AGM online.”
The event will be streamed live on the Skydive the Mag YouTube channel and a link will be posted on the British Skydiving Facebook Page on the morning of the AGM. Members will receive their ballot packs by email or post over the coming days and can opt to vote on the resolutions in advance or online on the day. Members who opt to attend the online AGM will receive further details on how they can participate in the votes.
